WE ARE LISTENING

Welcome back every one. One more warm, exciting and challenging academic year is ahead of us. Let's all face it bravely and give it our best shot. All the best.

Once again, thank you Mr Ram and Mr Anonymous for your opinions on the matter of appointment of our new Secretary and Joint Secretary (click here to know why). We aren't just deleting your comments. We are indeed, listening to you. We are writing this entry to clear some of the misconceptions and myths many of you seem to have harboured in your minds. The most prominent among those is the one related to the posts of Secretary, Joint Secretary and the Executive Body.

Here are a few related truths:
The Secretary and the Joint Secretary are NOT leaders of the ISTE chapter of our college. They simply represent and co-ordinate the activities of the Executive Body (Junior) . Nothing Less, Nothing More. It's as simple as that. They summon the body and and chair their meetings. They form the main communication channel between the Chair and the Jr Body. They don't enjoy any special powers. They can allot works to the members of the body but can't command them to do it. In case, someone refuses or fails to perform a duty, they can only report the matter to the Chair.

After reading all this one may get a doubt:
'If Secretary and Joint Secretary aren't supposed to lead the ISTE, then who else does that?'
Ans: No one. ISTE is not a body where one gets to lead and the others follow. It's just a society where we have all grouped to develop our skills. And how do we that? We do that by participating and organizing various programs on the common platform of ISTE. We also do that by sharing our knowledge with and learning from our fellow members. To do this one need not be Secretary or Joint Secretary or even a member of the Executive Body. We emphatically say this because one can always be actively involved in the functioning of ISTE as long he/she has the desire and capability to do so. No one can ever object one's active participation or role. If you really are interested in doing so, approach anyone of the Body and convey your feelings and willingness.

Thank you. Please continue being actively involved with ISTE and please let us know your opinions and suggestion. Because WE ARE LISTENING and will continue to do so.
